What is iPodRip

iPodRip is the best program that recovers your songs and playlists. Don't search for a software that is able to recover songs, playlists and even photos from your iPod. iPodRip supports all iPods ( it supports even iPod Touch ) and iPhones and the best part is that you don't have to be an expert to recover them, the recovery process is very simple and intuitive and you can recover them very easy and quickly.

iPodRip review

iPodRip was a recovery tool that offered support for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard or Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and for all versions of iTunes. Things has changed and now the developers of iPodRip, created the first version for Windows XP and for Windows Vista. It is probably the best recovery tool in this area, if you look to recover your songs, playlists or even photos. The first version of iPodRip was released in August 2003 ( back then it was available only for Mac's ) and had a great success since it had over 2 million downloads. There isn't much to say about this program, it's simply a software that is doing his job extremely well. I was able to install it quick and I use it to see if it's simple and intuitive for everyone. I guess even a child could use it, it's that easy.

iPodRip additional notes

Download iPodRip and save it on your computer. iPodRip works on Windows XP but it will require ( if you don't have it yet installed ) the .NET Framework version 2.0, if you don't have it it will simply ask you to do it, select Yes if you don't have it. After the installation of .NET Framework, run the iPodRip setup again and the installation will continue. Keep in mind that when this iPodRip review is written, this is a beta version of this program for Windows and it may contain many bugs. If you discover one, don't hesitate to contact the developer. You will also need iTunes 8 to run this program. After you will download iPodRip Windows version for XP and Vista, it will be saved on your PC as a zip archive and you will need a program utility like WinRaR or WinZip to extract or view the iPodRip setup file. This is a shareware program and you will need a license for this program to work after the trial period ends. While connecting your iPod to your computer, be sure to hold down both the Shift + Ctrl keys to prevent iTunes from auto-syncing with your iPod. If you don't do so, iTunes may automatically erase the contents of your iPod.

iPodRip is freeware or shareware ?

This program is shareware, you need to pay in order to register your software after the trial period ends.

I want to know the system requirements for iPodRip

You need to iTunes at least version 8.0 and one of these OS - Windows XP, Vista or at least Mac OS X 10.4 or 10.5

How many iPod models are being supported ?

iPodRip currently supports all iPod models and that includes iPods like iPod Touch and even iPhone.

How can I recover my photos from my old iPod ?

You can recover your photos from older iPod models ( this doesn't include iPhone or iPod Touch ) by accessing your photos directly from the finder. The photo recovery procedure is available only if you "opted to include full-resolution photos on your iPod".
If for any reason your iPod is not using "disk use" mode, you have here a good explanation on how to enable your iPod "disk use" mode.
The next step is to open another window in your Finder and then to navigate on your iPod. After selecting your pictures, just drag your photos on your desired location ( on your PC, iPhoto ).

I experienced slow transfer speeds with iPodRip

If you experience slow transfer speeds ( a slow transfer speed is when a song transfer takes more than a few seconds ) try to close any iTunes opened window. If an iTunes window asks you to "Erase and sync" your iPod choose "Cancel". And again, are you sure that your iPod has the "disk use" mode enabled ? If it's not enabled, you need to enable "disk use" mode for iPod.

Registration process is not working, please help me !

You can register iPodRip by using the "Activate Now" link. However if it fails, you have to register it manually. Here's is what you need to do :
A. Open iPodRip
B. For Windows - select "Register" from the black floating window, for MAC Select "iPodRip" then "Registration..." from the menu bar at top of the screen.
C. Just copy and then paste your license name and your serial number from your registration information. You need to enter your details exactly as you received them on your registration information, for this you can copy and then paste them in corresponding boxes.
D. If all the informations are correct you will be notified if the registration was successful, if not make sure to follow those steps one more time and check everything, it should work.

iPodRip doesn't detect my iPod, how can I fix it ?

Again, probably this problem appears because your iPod is not in "disk use" mode. For those who don't have an iPod Touch or and iPhone, they can use this guide for enabling disk use mode. After you make sure that disk use" mode is enabled, a simple restart of iPodRip program should resolve this problem. However, if you use an iPhone or an iPod Touch you will need to restart both iPodRip and iTunes and this issue should be resolved.

iPodRip works with all Mac versions ?

No it's not. If you want to use iPodRip on a Mac OS you will need at least Mac OS 10.4 installed or later. Also, iTunes 8.0 is required, so you will need to install it if you don't have it.

What can I do if iPodRip doesn't launch on my Mac ?

Are you sure that you are using at least Mac OS 10.4 and iTunes 8.0 ? If you do and still experience problems, perhaps you are using an older iPodRip version and you need to upgrade to latest version. If you still encounter problems, the only solution is to contact the iPodRip developer.
