How to create a Veoh account and install Veoh Player on Windows

 

This article will be your guide if you want to know how to create veoh account or how to install veoh player on Windows. As you know as a simple visitor to Veoh website you can watch video content on the site like on any other related websites, for example - YouTube!. But as you probably know if you would like to upload a video on the website or add any new features you will need to create a user and a password that will allow you to use more features. So, we are going to show how to create a veoh account and how to install veoh player.

 

Step 1 - Creating a Veoh account

 

You can create a Veoh account by accessing the veoh website and select "Sign Up". Look at the following picture to see where to select sign up for a free veoh account.

 

 

Now you should see a new window that will ask you to complete all required fields, like your name, your email address etc. and make sure to click on "Sign Up".

 

 

If all requested fields were correct you should be redirected to your successfully created account. The account interface should look like in the following picture ( I have resized the picture to be able to include it in website limits so it may look a little different on the right side ).

 

 

Now you're probably thinking that you have finished the sign up process and it's true you have created your free account but you won't be able to upload videos. To be able to publish your own videos you will need to confirm your e-mail address. To do that, look at the first section called "Videos I've Published" and click on "Add your first video!" and you should see a new window that will require your email address for confirmation.

 

 

Now you should check your email from Veoh that will ask you to confirm your email address by clicking on the link received in your email. If you didn't receive any email yet, try to click on "Send" button one more time and then wait. If still no new message, check your Junk or Spam folder, if nothing is there your browser could have javascript disabled. You should receive a similar message with this one :

 

 

Dear username, <- here should be your username

 

You have one more step required to become a Veoh publisher. You'll need to confirm your email address before uploading a video or creating a channel.

After you have clicked the link you'll be able to publish on Veoh using this account.

 

If you have trouble, please login and try to confirm your email again.

After you will click on this link you should see a message similar with this one :

 

Your email has been successfully confirmed.

You have been logged out of veoh.com and will need to log back in to publish.

You have to log in back to veoh to be able to upload videos

 

Now you need to log in with your username and password on veoh website so that you can add your first video ( if you want to add a video, if you don't want to add a video - you can see here how you can do it ). After logging in as I said, you will see on the first section called "Videos I've Published" a message that says "You haven't published any videos yet - Add your first video!". Make sure to click on "Add your first video" and a new window will open :

 

 

 

Make sure to complete all required fields and when you have finished click on "Add Video". After this your video should be uploaded on Veoh website. I have separated the screenshoot since I wasn't able to create a single image. Here is the second part from the same window :

 

 

Step 2 - Installing Veoh Player on Windows

 

Now we are going to install Veoh Player on Windows. I have chosed to show you how to create an account before installing Veoh Player since the username and password created will be the same needed to access Veoh Player after the installation will end. So, let's get started, first of all you will need to download latest version of Veoh Player for Windows and you can obtain it here. After this you will need to locate the downloaded setup files. It should look like in the following picture :

 

 

Make sure to open the file and you should see a new window that will ask you if you want to open this file ( those pictures are made in Windows XP SP3, in Windows Vista it may look a little different ).

 

 

If you selected "Run" button, you should see a new window that welcomes you to the installation of Veoh Web Player, make sure to click on "Next" button.

 

 

Now you should see a new window with the "Veoh Web Player End User license Agreement", make sure to read the entire terms of agreement and if you agree with them and want to continue with the installation, click on "I Accept" button.

 

 

 

You should see now a new window that asks you if you want to install Yahoo Toolbar on your computer (it's optional as a part of the installation ). If you're already use your favourite toolbar or you hate toolbars ( like me ) make sure to uncheck all checked small boxes and click on "Next" button.

 

 

Another window will ask you if you want to install Veoh Video Compass. It is a Veoh feature added to Veoh Player that will find videos you forgot about, watch things you didn't know existed and uncover something new. I chosed to install it, if you don't want it installed, make sure to unchech the small box with "Install the Veoh Video Compass". To continue, make sure to click on the "Next" button.

 

 

 

Now, you will be asked where to save Veoh downloaded videos. The default folder is choosen by this setup, if you want to install it on a different folder on your computer make sure to click on this button "..." and select your new location. Also choose where to create shortcuts. If you want to continue with the installation and leave it as it is, click on "Install" button and the program will start the installation.

 

 

You should wait a couple of seconds or minutes depending on your computer speed and you should see the confirmation window, make sure to click on "Finish" button:

 

 

If you clicked on the "Finish" button you will be asked to login on Veoh Player, a small window will prompt for your username and password ( it's the same username and password from veoh website ). Make sure to enter your username and password and click on "Log In" button.

 

 

If you entered your username and your password you should be able to see for the first time the Veoh Player program interface. You should see a similar window with the one from this picture :

 

 

As you can see, you can add videos, you can manage your videos, it allows you to sort them by title, publisher or length and you can use the search function to search for videos.
