Delete history, cookies, passwords in Internet Explorer 7

If you reached this page you probably wonder how to delete your history, your cookies, passwords, forms or temporary files stored by Internet Explorer 7. You hate cookies or any other temporary files created by your browser because it slows down your browser or simply because you have strange feelings related to your privacy. So let's get started, I will show you how easy is to delete your browsing history, cookies, passwords etc.

Step 1 - Delete Browsing History - the most used method

The easiest and fastest method for deleting browsing history in Internet Explorer 7 would be to start Internet Explorer and click on Tools - Delete Browsing History, like in the picture below:

Delete Browsing History in Internet Explorer 7 - Step 1

Now you would notice that a new and more detailed window, with more options will appear, like in this picture :

Delete Browsing History window - Step 2

As you probably noticed, if you want to delete the "Temporary Internet Files" ( each time you visit a website a copy or a part of his images, videos will be saved on a temporary folder on your computer, this is designed to increase the speed of your browser but it can also reveal privacy informations about you ) all you need to do is to click on "Delete files" and a new small window will appear - asking you to delete all internet explorer files. Select YES if you want to delete them and NO if you don't want to delete them.

Next, we are going to delete cookies, it is the same process, repeating, check the next picture :

Delete cookies in Internet Explorer 7 - Step 4

We will do the same thing if we want to delete only the history, this area will delete all pages that we've visited. Each time you're visiting a website, it is being saved in your browser in the History section, if this is what you want you can delete your browser history like in the picture below :

Forms are being activated by the autocomplete feature. You can choose the type of web form information that Internet Explorer will retain and automatically fill in for you. You can choose whether Internet Explorer's "AutoComplete feature" will remember web addresses, information that you fill out in web forms, remember when you are registering on a website and the autocomplete asks you if you want this form to be remembered by your browser. If you want to delete any saved forms on Internet Explorer you can click on "Delete Forms..." and a new window will ask you once again, like in the picture below :

Finally, the last option in the "Delete Browsing History" is the section for Passwords. When you login in to your email box, your shopping account, bank account or any other type of account, Internet Explorer 7 asks you if you want to remember the password for that website. If you chosed yes ( although I don't recommend this ) the next time when you will visit a certain website that your browser stored the password it will automatically login you. I know that it may be more practical then typing your password each time but this is very dangerous from security perspective. However, to delete your stored passwords, click on "Delete passwords..." just like in the picture below.

Delete stored passwords in Internet Explorer 7 - Step 7

I guess you may wonder why I didn't tell you from the start, how to delete all of them by clicking the button with "Delete all..." instead of a long tutorial. Perhaps because I wanted to offer a detailed explanation for all features included in "Delete Browsing History" window, this would be a good reason. Another one - because not everyone would like to delete their History, only the cookies, or only their stored passwords and the examples could go on. Now, you can delete temporary internet files, cookies, history, forms and passwords by clicking on "Delete all..." button, and a new window will appear ( it's up to you if you want to check the "Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons." but if you don't know what to do, I usually check it and delete it to if I want to delete all ) like in the picture below :

Step 2 - Delete Browsing History - the second method with the same results

Now, it's up to you if you want to read further, I will present you a different method to delete your browser history but with the same results as the first one. So let's get started, open Internet Explorer 7 and go to Tools - select - Internet Options, do it like in the picture below :

Second method to delete browser history - Step 9

Now make sure to select the first Tab called General and look in the middle of the Internet Options window for a button called "Delete", if you cannot find it then look for Browsing history - "Delete temporary files, history, cookies, saved passwords, and web information". Now click on the Delete button, like in the next picture :

Finally, we are at the last step, now you can delete your browser history by doing the same things like in the first method that we have used. It's the same window with the same features, the difference is the location of this window.
