I can't figure out what should I say about WinZip. There are not so many bad things that you can say about this application since it is a very very popular data compression application since it is very old and it become a mature and a stable version. It can be installed on all Microsoft Windows versions. It was an application that I, myself installed it on Microsoft Windows 95 so that I can decompress files. It's a must have software installed on your PC if you're an windows user. What can I say, it is very easy to use, even if you are new to the world of computers this software is very friendly and very intuitive. Even a novice, like me, ten years ago managed to handle this application. You can run it by using the Wizard interface ( which is optional ) that will guide you to a "step by step" interface or you can use the classic interface and manage from there the files or folders you wish to compress, decompress or any other desired operations. So, WinZip is one of the best compression/decompression software available that provides you with a lot of useful features.

Other notes :

The installation or the uninstall process of WinZip is simple and fast. However, regardless the type of data compression software you are using you should always know that when you are using a BitTorrent client and download files, compressed files or folders or you receive compressed emails and you need to decompress them, many antivirus are not able to scan the compressed files. So, when you will decompress an unknown file from someone out there on the Internet, regardless the transmission type you should always suspect it first. You could easily decompress an dangerous virus, an remote Trojan, adware files and many dangerous programs that can affect your system. Also any antivirus on this planet cannot and probably will never be able to open a password protected file or folder. Keep your antivirus updated and scan the files that looks suspicious for you before opening them.
