WinPatrol is in many cases similar with best anti-spyware program. I loved this application from the first moment that I installed. For example if you want to install WinPatrol you will see that the installation process is fast and very intuitive. After installation and running WinPatrol you may not notice any changes at all. The only thing that you will probably see is Scotty "on guard down in your system tray". That means WinPatrol is quietly on patrol and you'll only know it's running if there's some kind of potentially dangerous change made to your system. If you are going to access Scotty you will open the WinPatrol Explorer. Using this tabbed interface which is very simple to use, it will allow you to learn more about your computer and it will give you more control then you'll find in a half dozen other Windows utilities. If we add the fact that this is one of the best anti-spyware programs for Windows coming with no other third party or additional software installed and being free, makes it a must have software on your computer. This software seems to work excellent on almost all Microsoft Windows versions. Here are some tips, for example if you want to uninstall WinPatrol, make sure that this program is not running in background anymore. To exit the program select Exit Program and WinPatrol will stop monitoring your system. Then go to the Windows Control Panel and choose the Add/Remove Programs applet in order to remove this program from your computer. Other small issues can usually be solved by following those recommendations. Make sure you have room on your hard drive. All setup programs require extra space to uncompress files. Download or Save the program to your hard drive and run it locally instead of opening it from the web page. Use the classic, Reboot Windows and try it with a fresh system. For some reason this actually solves the problem more times than anything else. On multi-user machines it's recommended you are logged with an account that had administrative rights. If you are encountering an "Error 403 Forbidden" when you are trying to download WinPatrol, Run Internet Explorer, on the menu "Tools", select "Internet Options". Click on the "Delete Files", and then click "OK". Click "OK" to close the "Internet Options" dialog box and the error should be now fixed and you should be able to download the application.
