It is both a plugin for Konqueror, as well as a standalone video player. The KMPlayer can play almost all popular formats like MPEG-1/2/4, OGM, WMV, VCD, AVI, Quicktime, 3GP, RealMedia, MKV, and DVD. This video and audio player designed for Microsoft Windows can handle a wide range of subtitles and allows one to capture video, audio and screenshots. Also if you are going to use The KMPlayer you can slow down or increase playback speed, select parts of a video as favorites, set audio and video effects etc. The KMPlayer is completely customizable thanks to a wide selection of skins and color schemes, and the configuration options are extensive. The KMPlayer is another free and very good multimedia player. Coming from South Korea I would say that this is the best digital media player for Windows along with another Korean media player software - GOM Media Player. The KMPlayer is available in the following languages: English, Korean ( which is his Default language ), Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Turkish, Italian, Portuguese, Belarusian, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, Swedish, Romanian, Brazilian, French, Hungarian, Czech, Polish, Thai and Spanish. This media player is able to open compressed audio album support in .zip, .rar file formats, play incomplete or damaged AVI files by skipping damaged frames, it has Mplayer engine support, DVD, ratDVD support and WDM device support like Cam/Camera/HDTV/TV. There are many other popular features like the ability to open Adobe Flash/FLI/FLC files, it has support for the Winamp Input Plugin and also supports Module ( UMX, XM MOD, IT, MTM, and S3M ) DTS Wave, MPC, FLAC, AMR, AC3, AAC, Ogg, Ape, ALAC, SHN, WV, etc. It even supports Flash Video (FLV), Nullsoft Streaming Video (NSV), Google Video (GVI) and also 3GP, PMP, VOB. I believe that a correct installation of The KMPlayer should allow you to play the most popular video file formats for Windows on your computer. You already should have a good protection for your computer in case that you are downloading video files from the Internet and you should know that this media player supports the following subtitles like VOB, 3GP, MKV, OGM, MP4, ASF, Unicode text subtitles, SMIL/RealText, SubRipText (.srt), MicroDVD (.sub), Closed Caption, VobSub, SAMI ( .smi, .sami ), Sasami 2K, USF, SSA, ASS, text to speech for reading subtitles etc. There are also some plugins for Winamp support by The KMPlayer.
