When I am using ICQ I am thinking at a complete instant-messaging application with alot of features and tools. Sure, you must realise that you won't find a perfect software but ICQ has given me a sensation of all-in-one program. Before making an personal impression about this application, you should know in case that you didn't test it that this software is freeware and like all things that are free in this world, you won't get technical support for it. However, you can find tons of information regarding ICQ on the Internet. At this new version you will find an integrated Google searching option. You will also find new and improved tools like SMS messaging, built-in games but you will find features, like Push2Talk that seems to have been phased out from this new version of ICQ. As an personal conclusion I would highly recommend you this application, if you're looking for an instant-messaging program - to be used exclusively for communications over the Internet.

I encountered an error when I installed ICQ with his toolbar on Internet Explorer 7. It didn't worked out so I uninstalled it. Besides of this small problem I didn't encountered any major problems when I used ICQ. However, when you are using such an instant-messaging application beware that you may easily get viruses or other adware forms if you're going to accept any type of files or unknown files from strangers, from people that you don't know. Using any chat client requires a good protection like and antivirus or even an firewall. Another function that worked smooth and painless when compared to other similar chat programs was the audio chatting function, but that depends on your connection type - so if you have a fast Internet connection, you will definetely enjoy this great ICQ option. Coming with this new version I was able to install ICQ on Windows Vista and it worked just great.
