Another popular and compatible BitTorrent client that offers support for FTP, HTTP, BitTorrent and it's very fast and pretty easy to use it's called BitComet. Like many P2P clients - BitComet is designed especially for high speed distribution of all kinds of files like .mp3 files, .avi and many others - actually all most of supported type of files can be transferred across the Internet with this P2P application. Also BitComet is a similar software with Utorrent ( µTorrent ), Azureus, BitTornado, FrostWire, KTorrent, LimeWire, Deluge, Shareaza and many others software based on the original BitTorrent client. There are many other functions that are being supported by BitComet like fast resume, auto port mapping, IP filtering, UDP NAT traversal, protocol encryption, peer exchange ( also called PEX ) proxy functions or even with disk cache. Another nice option of this application is the embedded Internet Explorer window that has the purpose of making users life more easier when they want to search for torrents in an easy way.

I am considering BitComet as a great BitTorrent client - this is one of the best I ever saw. That's because it is very simple and very fast. For example it is endeed an advanced download manager, many users claims on forums that this is the most advanced download manager. It is very simple but very complex since there are many functions that you will probably never use it. I like the following features that can stop the download tasks and it can be resumed at a later time from where they left off for both FTP and HTTP protocols. It has per task speed limit for both - downloads and uploads. Another functions of BitComet that worths to be mentioned here are the user friendly tool that assists translators of the software and it helps to publish the translations online, the download manager that includes a browser plugin for Internet Explorer and Maxthon ( Maxthon - also known as MyIE2 is a China based free web browser for Microsoft Windows ) and the Internet Explorer embedded in BitComet that allows us to search more easier for torrents on the Internet.

Other notes :

On the official website of BitComet we saw in the past that they claimed that their software does not contain any kind of spyware or adware. We saw that versions 0.85 to 0.97 contained advertising. So, by definition those versions could be "called" adware. In the current versions of BitComet we didn't find out advertising excepting the web based search window but this kind of advertising seems to become more and more popular amongst many software and tends to become more popular for freeware software. Therefore, we advice you to be a little more paranoid when you are installing any software freeware or shareware. You cannot rely only on good manners, you must be prepared to fight against this new forms of adware. So what you can do in order to avoid adware or viruses exposion to your system ? Simple, be informed and keep your antivirus updated, if you don't have a good one the search for a very good antivirus and use anti adware tools like Adaware ( developed by Lavasoft ) or SpyBot Search & Destroy. In conclusion you must protect yourself since you can transfer adware, viruses, Trojans and many bad things with this program. Actually it's like buying a car, you buy the car but the seller won't give you any guarantees that you won't make a car accident. It's all up to you.
