Adobe Fireworks ( until a couple of years was known as Macromedia Fireworks ) was always my favourite graphical editing software. I know it doesn't offer your the same features like Adobe Photoshop being considered as a secundary software editing tool, but I love it and I always considered it the best images editor application for me. I am not a professional, after years of using it I know only basic stuffs and probably I will never use the entire power of this program. There are a lot of reasons to buy this fantastic software. For example, with Adobe Fireworks you can use filter effect in order to apply lighting effects, styles, blend modes and shadows, including new blend modes from Photoshop so that you can add depth an character to symbols and text. You also can Import Photoshop (PSD) files while retaining hierarchical layers, layer effects, and blend modes. Save Fireworks (PNG) files back into PSD format. Import Illustrator (AI) files while retaining graphic integrity, including layer, group, and color information. You can apply prototype interactive layouts for websites and rich Internet applications (RIAs). Export website prototypes to Dreamweaver and RIA prototypes to Flex. Also, you can optimize graphics for virtually any delivery scenario with preview, cross-platform gamma preview, selective JPEG compression, and a wide range of export controls. With Adobe Fireworks comes with multipage support a feature that allows you to use the new Pages panel to create multiple pages in a single document (PNG file), and share layers across multiple pages. Adobe Fireworks is a very stable program, I didn't discovered any technical issues, however I am a little disappointed because he asks for more and more resources. You will probably tell me that a graphical software eats a lot of RAM and a performant video card is better. I know all of these but I saw that in his requirements I need a Intel® Pentium® 4, Intel Centrino,® Intel Xeon,® or Intel Core™ Duo (or compatible) processor, 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended), 1GB of available hard-disk space (additional free space required during installation), 1,024x768 monitor resolution with 16-bit video card, QuickTime 7 software required for multimedia features, Broadband Internet connection required for Adobe Stock Photos* and other services. My older version of Fireworks was running on a lower computer resources and I was very glad with it. I know that a professional needs to have a performant computer but I am a little disappointed since not everyone has enough money for a powerful computer. The antivirus is also a necessary software since there are viruses that affects or are being attached to pictures.
